Today, Friday September 22, is the first day of fall! What better time, we thought, to bring you our Fall Update – full of the latest news from the SkyLaw team and our incredible clients!  It has been an eventful summer with new hires, an office expansion, some exciting new initiatives, fantastic new clients, and so much more. •  SkyLaw Welcomes Michael Barrett to the Team

SkyLaw is pleased to announce that Michael Barrett has joined our team as a consultant!  Mike is currently helping us with our “SkyCounsel” business division and “SkyCorporate” initiative.  Mike has law and MBA degrees from the University of Victoria (British Columbia) and practiced corporate and securities law at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP alongside Kevin West and Andrew Cooley.  Mike also has experience advising businesses (in a non-legal capacity) on M&A and financing matters, as well as owning and operating an HVAC company.  Mike can be reached by email at michael.barrett@skylawpc.ca.

•  SkyLaw Takes Over Floor 2.5!

Exciting news – SkyLaw is growing!  We have expanded our offices into another suite and have officially taken over the entire floor.  As a result of this expansion, we now have even more work and meeting space which means more room to accommodate new SkyCounsel members.

A business division of SkyLaw, SkyCounsel is a membership-based services and support offering for experienced lawyers who want to establish an independent practice.
 
Members of SkyCounsel have access to all of SkyLaw’s lawyers and resources, as well as the years of experience and expertise that come from successfully operating a boutique law firm. Members can make use of office and meeting space; administrative and technical support; legal assistance from law clerks and students; and business operations advice. The result is a top-quality practice platform, with opportunities for leverage. Moreover, by working as SkyCounsel, members benefit one another through brand building, knowledge sharing, and referral opportunities.
 
SkyCounsel provides all the benefits of a full-service law firm on a more flexible and cost-effective platform. SkyCounsel members practice law independent of one another, keep 100% of their revenue, and are free to develop their business and serve their clients as they see fit.
